Would you rather kill your pet and eat it, or eat a person who had died?

 Both, pet first.

I don't think I could muster the will to kill one of my animals, so probably the latter, but I really hope that I'm never faced with this choice.

If it were to actually happen, I'd probably just kill myself.

I could never eat my own pet, and eating a human is just sick...

If I was starving, I'd do either one without hesitation.

If the human had already died I would probably eat that rather than my own pet.

I wouldn't eat my pet. And I wouldn't want to eat a dead person either.

I'd eat the dead person.
I could never harm my dogs.

Depends of what type of pet.
If it's a big fish or something, the pet.
If it's a gerbil, the human.

To answer this hypothetical problem, yeah, I'd eat the pet.

Get my dog to injure people until they were immobilized and then kill my dog and eat them both.

Neither. I would kill my pet so it wouldn't starve, and probably kill myself in someplace dark and secretive like a cave so no one would eat me.
It's like the book 'The Road'. No food, so everyone reverts to cannibalism. It's pretty rad.
