hell, the attorney general, who should know better, came to speak to my school about registering to voate this week. Now, making biased statements in front of a 800-person school body certainly isn't okay for him to do, but he sure as hell did it. I can't say for sure that it's illegal, but I'd be willing to guess it is. He made some mention of this act that he created something or another and how it was (and he said this part very excitedly and with plenty of charisma) "a huge step towards conquering global warming." And of course, he got plenty of applause.
I really, really wanted to go up there and take the microphone from him and ask "excuse me sir, but isn't it true that this act was is simply an effort to help clean up our cities and promote better living for us all? Isn't it true that the act was purposely not based on global warming because members of congress could never possibly come up with an agreement on whether such a thing really exists? And so... wouldn't mentioning global warming be... hm... kind of like your opinion? Do you really think it's okay to bring that up in here? Because, you know, I could totally talk for a few hours about different sources that show global warming is simply the natural heating and cooling of our planet."
Once again, I have NO opinion on global warming. I think it could be either way. But at least I take the time to look at the situation from both sides. I don't listen to douchebags like al gore and assume the polar bears are all dying because of me.
