While in a moving vehicle? I think not madood;
I guess it depends on what type of bus you're on, if it's a school bus it'll probably be hard to read, but if it's coach it'd probably be easy.

It's a charter bus, whatever that is.

I miss my DS wry
As for the music, I'm not sure it if will last that long. I'm going to check.
When I had to ride the bus all the way to San Antonio for a day and a half, you can bet I spent many hours straight doing nothing but listening to music. I also played my DS a lot. Sleeping is obviously good too.
That's really about all there is to do. If you have no handhelds, then...sucks for you.
Oh, and you can also read. I read Of Mice and Men and (for the fourth time) The Catcher in the Rye.

I personally love it, and it's considered a "classic" so I suppose a lot of other people think it's great too, but most people my age that I talk to seem to think it's not all that great. I suppose some people think it's depressing.
It also has a bad reputation considering that one murderer seemed to carry it with him all the time.

I suppose I can read, but I'd rather not, especially since this is my first high school field trip.
BTW I'm allowed the bring my laptop, but that won't do any good on the trip.

depends on the battery charge. if you have enough, grab some emulators and go nuts, or learn a programming language or something.
Music really is the best way to pass the time, along with books. I'd pick up some stuff you've never heard/read before and have fun with it.

Well I'm running Ubuntu and it has 1 hour and 45 minutes worth of charge (it's plugged in right now). The round trip will approximately take 3 hours. I could try to learn a new language on the trip, but I don't think my battery will last that long.

You could be clever and make a nice playlist for the road, set your laptop to turn off the screen when it's close but otherwise don't affect hard drive processes, and enjoy twice as much battery life + music

But I do have a Sansa Express powerofone; But in all seriousness, I think I might have enough music to last the trip, but knowing myself, I might get bored with it quickly. Then again, I just restocked my MP3 player with new chiptunes.

That's...odd.
But the chiptunes are a good idea. Or just have someone give you a zip of music you've never listened to, and add that. Be adventurous!
Or sleep. akudood;

At this point, we'll have to see what happens. Unless I can figure out a way to extend my battery's life, I'm not bringing my laptop.

i hate it when people sing purposely and badly and for more than 10 minutes
it drives me insane ;_;
I'm back from the field trip. Apparently the guy next to me offered to play a game against him on his DS. I took that opportunity and played against him. In a way, the game was relevant to the class I'm taking with him. I forget what it was called though, but it was like mixture of Risk and Warcraft.
But then two-thirds of the way there, the game ended and we listened to our music, showing what songs we were playing from time to time.
Once we arrived, we waited about an hour to enter the museum. We saw the Tarra Cotta soldiers, One of them was alive powerofone;
So yeah, after that, we went to the food court at some mall. I had some really god sushi.
Then we came back to the school. I listened to music the rest of the way back.
How was your guy's day?

I realize I'm replying to this really late but oh well
we aren't like.. choir groups that randomly burst out in songs from Rent (blech) screaming at the top of our longs
when I say we were singing, I mean we were actually being directed, practicing for our tour.All classy music and whatnot.
And because everyone on the trip was in choir.. everyone was singing. So nobody to punch us.
Once at disney there were like 10 kids from a music school (they reminded me of det because she said she went to disney with her choir) They busted out singing "seasons of Love" horribly. that song already pisses me off. I was not happy. :|
My school's band was going to take a trip to Chicago this year and participate in a music festival and take in a game at Wrigley, among other things. However, the Massive Fucking Ice Storm of 2009 is causing school to go well into June (unless you're a senior like me, we still graduate in mid-May), so the trip was canceled. akudood;

Audition for my choral group. You don't have to audition to get in, but new poeple need to 'audition' just because she likes to know everybody's strengths and weaknesses and what everyone sounds like and whatnot. It also serves to sort people into alto/soprano and tenor/base for those of us who hadn't sung in a group before.
I'm listening to carmina burana. giggle;

oh, we do that in front of everybody, but he just plays scales to see how high or low you can go n______n
and to audition into the higher choirs you have to sing major + the three minor + chromatic scales, and sightsing sightreading of an advanced level.

we do a lot of stuf for both auditions, I just remember that being one of the audition pieces.
for the higher groups I know we have to do a couple scales and hold our part in a relatively simple SATB song while she plays the others and do warmups with her and isghtsing and stuff. I got in my sophomore year and didn't have to audition again so I don't really remember.
