Bowser's an FP-hog and his magic sucks so bad it's astonishing.

My favorite team has always been Mario (duh), Peach, and Geno. Peach's ultimate weapon is the best aside from the Lazy Shell, not to mention she has the healing magic that makes items almost completely unnecessary, which leaves money to buy bombs and shit to end battles even faster.

Now, that's not to say that there is a "best" team, considering that strategies always differ depending on the battle. Megasmilax, for example, is extremely weak to Mallow's "Snowy" ability. For Exor, you can actually kill it with the Geno Whirl, so there you go. Use Geno on that one.

When it comes to Smithy, it doesn't seem to matter who you pick (other than Mario and Peach), considering that, provided you got all the ultimate weapons, your three remaining characters should have pretty close to identical attack stats. And magic against Smithy is pretty much pointless, so yeah.

If you don't get the Froggiestick from Frogfucious, you're going to have an even harder time using Mallow. But primarily, Mallow's strengths early on in the game are just in his magic. He'll get useful weapons later, but it really does seem like forever.

Get Mario wth the Lazy Shell.
Peach to use Magic.
And Bowser as backup for attacks.

I beat the game with no problem. I even beat Culex.

Everyone can beat the game with no problem, including Culex, with basically any team combo. It's not like you're good at the game for beating Culex, because he's really a complete pushover.

doodthing;

Of course you get the Lazy Shell for Mario. This is common sense. You get the Frying Pan for Peach and have her use physical attacks and magic, otherwise you're not using her to her fullest. She's seriously a great attacker.

Bowser's physical attacks are no better than Geno's, unless you purposely went higher on Bowser's attack during Level Up sequences than with Geno's. And that'd be retarded, because that's sacrificing his other stats and the boost is minimal anyway.

You should have already gotten it. A lot of people forget it or just never knew about it.

Remember how Mallow stormed into town chasing after Croco to get his coin back? Well, he wanted that coin so he could buy something for Frogfucious at the store in Mushroom Kingdom. You need to go get it now that you have Mallow's coin back, and then you give Frogfucious' cricket pie that you get to him, and he'll give you the Froggiestick.

I know how to get through it, but not really off the top of my head. I remember a couple key pipes that you need to go in to do it the way I usually do, like the one with a rat circling around it that's right next to a rat that's for some reason standing on a wall.

All I remember for certain is that you need to the button that drains the sewer, then you go into a pipe that was before underwater, near the entrance but all the way to the farthest south-west you can go from the entrance.

How can you be stupid? Accessorizing the character is so straight forward. And there really is only one top armour for every character in the end. Weapons too (for a few).

Uh, my point was that every character can be equipped and leveled up almost exactly the same way, so every character has roughly the same highest possible stats. The only exceptions to that are a couple character-exclusive armor and accessory things (Peach can't use Work Pants, Super Suit is only for Mario, etc.) and of course the Lazy Shell (weapon) and the Frying Pan.

SMRPG does not have much variation in the characters except for their magic, and that's useless at the end of the game anyway, because Smithy is most subsceptible to physical attacks.

Sunken ship?

I don't really have any advice for that boss other than being leveled up enough, timing all your hits, and shit like that. Mario's Super Flame is fairly effective on the head, King Calimari.

He's a boss I don't really remember that well as far as weaknesses, because I haven't tried much. Never tried using Mallow's magic or anything on him.

That carbo cookie thing is mostly pointless. Although I think it does open that little bucket some mole girl was sitting on, and then you can use it as a pipe to go down Midas River once again (only the frog coins are back).

Frog Coins are used to buy items from one of the tadpoles in Tadpole Pond, but those items aren't all that useful. The best use of Frog Coins is at a later point in the game at a place called Seaside Town. A frog there will sell you some pretty valuable stuff, such as the Scrooge Ring and the Exp. Booster.

All you do is run around that circle of areas chasing him. Or just stand there after you get up and it says "Oh no, Croco took the coins!" because he'll come back around, since the area with the spring is one of the rooms he runs through.

Wait, actually, you can't just stand there and wait for Croco, because you have to see the sequence where he blows up a wall with a tiny bob-omb. You go right from the spring and keep going until he blows up the wall, and then he'll start running in circles through those rooms.

In the long run, as long as you keep getting the new weapons for them, Mallow and Bowser's physical attack levels should be pretty similar. But Mallow's magic is far better, so in that way Mallow's better.
But...then again, magic's usefulness does decrease as you get farther in the game, because you'll find it easy enough to just kill enemies with physical attacks. Some specific magic attacks are good for bosses though, and Mallow has most of those.

But chances are, Bowser is leveled up more right now, because he always seems to be a level or two over my other characters when I first get him...so he's probably more useful than Mallow for the moment. Especially if you get the Chomp that's in Booster's Tower.

I only have to use a Pick Me Up or two after the robot head thing shoots its Breaker Beam. I'm not sure if you're not leveling up enough or you're not getting the best weapons, or what. Or maybe you don't know the best order to kill them (black, pink, green, yellow, red or something similar to that).

You can, yes, although I rarely do because I don't care and she's pathetically easy to kill anyway.

All of my characters are 21-23, I have Mario's best weapon, Geno's second best weapon, and Bowser's Link Ball thing.

Hmm, so I beat the game. I would like to know how to save at The End screen... or is it like Zelda where you can never save after the Final Boss? doodthing;

Link...ball thing? You mean the one you buy in Monstro Town? With the spikes?

Your characters are all leveled up enough so I have no idea how you had any trouble with the Axem Rangers.

No, you can't save. All you can really do is turn the game off.

Yes, that thing. I have all the best weapons now.
I effed around with the order because I wasn't attacking them in any order, just randomly.

Anyway I finished the game with every character at 27, got the star fireworks ending and all I have to say is, it's one of the greatest games I have ever played.

Also is there any fast way to leave this factory? Because I want to do some sidequests I missed...

No problem.

Oh, and just to let you know, it's now impossible to get all those invisible chests, because you have to get one of them right at the beginning of the game by jumping off of Toad as he leads you into the Chancellor's room. It's above a doorway. I think that's the only sidequest you can't do now, though.

Fuck, that chest pissed me off when I was young. I felt so clever when I found out how to get it.

Nothing but physical attacks. Having the Safety Ring will help against a few of his moves, like Fire Stone, but doesn't block his favorite attack, Water Blast. Just be leveled up enough, have the Safety Ring, maybe buy some bombs in the fake shop (the left-most shop in the left clump of shops unless all the fake toads are already gone).

Jumping on ants in Land's End is pretty quick...it's also good for getting Frog Coins fast. Or you could just go kill enemies that always drop 10 coins. I think rats always drop 10...and there's lots of them in the forest maze.

Uh I don't see how.

The ghosts are pretty annoying I guess though. Hopefully you realize that physical attacks miss easily on ghosts when you don't time your hits correctly, and that pure water kills a ghost in one hit. Also, any special attack kills a dry bones in one hit, no matter how weak.

Like ms44 said, use Shocker. Just use physical attacks for your other characters. Or bombs, if you have them, although that would probably be overkill.

Use physical attacks on one of the eyes to disable the shield around the "Exor" on the top of the sword, and then Geno Whirl it. Only time Geno Whirl really works on a boss, as far as I know.

You can get that stuff. You just need a key, and the key is in Monstro Town. It's sitting on top of a ledge and you need to talk to the thwomp guy enough times that he pounds enough to knock it down.

The star guy gives you exactly that...a star. I always do it for quick experience.
