What's wrong with Humphrey Bogart?

Daniel Day-Lewis or Sean Penn would be my picks.
Sean Penn? lol?
I guess he's pretty great actually, but I have trouble taking him seriously for some reason. I guess it's just a weird thing only I have
Also, Daniel Day Lewis, hell yes.

Cream of the crop... And I might actually consider your point if you'd list any talent. That's how debate works.
but honestly there's loads of great actors and I think it's too trivial of a subject to just point out one specific actor as the best ever, same with guitarists and stuff.
I know. I'm talking about anyone who does crossovers between acting and making music. They are either good at acting, or at making music. I can't name anyone who can pull off both.
Take Madonna for example. Some people find her to be a good musician (I don't), but good grief, she has made countless shitty movies.

Whereas Russel Crowe is a good actor and a shitty musician. Then there is Jared Leto, who is both a terrible musician and a bad actor.

Oh, and what about people that act in Musicals? They have to have both talents.

Will Smith is a good actor but good musician? lol. Same goes for you, Marky Mark. I'm not picking up GOOOOOOOOD VIBRATIOOOOOOONS from your shitty music career.

I don't think Johnny Depp has gotten enough praise in this thread yet
despite a few bad movies, his acting in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Dead Man are some of the best I've seen, and although the Pirates movies suck he's fun to watch in those too
but Fear and Loathing is possibly the single best two acting performances ever (him and Benicio Del Toro)
I didn't think the acting was unbelievably phenomenal. It was great, but it doesn't really stand out when I think of best performances
Johnny Depp always impresses me. I bet i would be less impressed if i saw more of his not so big movies, but you can say that about anyone. He can do anything! THE POWER OF GOD(almost) He even plays a cross-dresser in a couple movies.

It was a good performance but best of all time? You're shitting my ass sideways if you legitimately think that. Yes, Heath Ledger was a good actor who was going to be a great one the way his career was heading but he never reached his full potential. God damn, I hate you people sometimes.
Also, Johnny Depp? The man's had three great performances. Ed Wood, Dead Man, and Fear and Loathing. He's a versatile actor but I wouldn't put him up there yet. He has yet to wow me in a long time. Also, Jack Sparrow is one annoying fuck of a character in the sequels.
How about John Travolta in Battlefield Earth? He was brilliant then.

Relax. Don't take it personally, it's Boyah baddood;. I'm sure his performace is great, but one amazing performace doesn't mean he tops every actor or actress that ever existed. And no i haven't seen it because i work every day and my parents saw it without me and don't want to see it again. (suicide smiley goes here)
