The only reason it was not praised was because of North America's Pokemon boom. All that,"oh it ends in -mon must be a pokemon rip-off" shit going on at the time. Sadly, they missed out on a deep and beautifully animated experience. I found myself become emotionally attached to the original Digi Destined and ended up bawwing during alot of the plot twists. If you haven't seen it, watch the first, second, and maybe the third season of it, it is really a great series.
I watched it as a kid.
It sucks now.
Which of these replies seems satisfactory to the OP?
A. Yeah... If that's the only show you've seen from the 90s.
B. Hell no.
C. Fuck no.
D. Watch more shows.
Christ, Catdog was better than Digimon AND I FUCKING HATE CATDOG.
Also, here's a list of shows that are better than Digimon from the 90s...
All of them.

Catdog was genius, but it did not have the depth or character development of digimon.

Please... Don't use words like depth or character development in conjunction with Digimon. You also find Catdog genius. Why am I not surprised?

Homicide: Life on the Street, for one.
You have to be kidding.

If he's serious, then Kono needs to be ostracized.

I think we should do it just as a precaution.

Catdog was far from genius. It was moronic, but still entertaining.
Digimon didn't have depth or character development.
I did love that show as a kid though.
The first 2 seasons were way awesome, everything after that was horse shit. I fucking despised the 3rd or 4th season. the digimon sucked and the main charactrer was the biggest pussy on the face of the planet.
But I really liked season 1 and 2, they are great children's anime.
The movie was fuckin sick too.
The first season was badass
Other then that it sucks. And it's more overrated than anything.
I VOTE DINOSAURS baddood;
I laughed so hard.
Uh, what? There are other things way more underrated than Digimon. If anything, Digimon is overrated...because it sucks.
I wouldn't say it's "underrated," but it was pretty much a nostalgic show for me. The first two seasons were great. The third one was when the shit came down. I guess adding things to do with Digimon (like cards in the show, or humans turning into them) just damages it by the meter.
I liked the first season, but the others never really appealled to me

Kono wouldn't be able to appreciate such a fine crime drama series. :|
