It just started happening. I can do everything just fine until I open my local disc. When I open it my taskbar disappears. I can quickly close it and things will return to normal, but if I click on a program within the taskbar, I'm screwed unless I restart the computer.
Also, I can open the Task Manager fine when My taskbar and shortcuts disappear.
But, explorer.exe does not do the trick gonk;
My guess is that it is probably a virus, but I have no idea as to how to get rid of it, or to even see where it is/WHAT it is :'( So I need some free virus finder/killer also :(

this is why I hate Windows n_u
1. download Kaspersky free trial
2. run it, see what viruses it says you have, delete them
3. reboot
4. if it still happens LOL
5. reformat/reinstall
So I just delete what it finds to be trouble?

Have you ever used a virus/adware/malware scanner before? It's straightforward. It scans your hard drive, brings up everything that's a problem, then prompts you to delete them automatically.
Also, by "local disc" to you mean hard DISK or literally a disc
hard disk, lol
Maybe it's hiding. baddood
But seriously, I don't really understand your problem.

this would never have happened if you weren't a sinner.
Not everyone has the money to buy a Mac or OS X; many do not have the time or motivation to install a Linux distro either. :|

If you have enough time to put up with Windows' shit, you can order a free livecd and use it.

Windows isn't near as bad as people make it out to be. If people actually knew what they were doing. They probably wouldn't have viruses.

Because Linux makes all your problems go away instantly.

yeah well if you're gonna buy a computer you have to pay at least 600 dollars, obviously his costed him 200 and he has some shitty 1.5ghz pentium II and expects it to "work"
Windows is hardly ever the issue, it's the computer and the idiocy of the user.
