My sister wanted me to fix the old computer so I installed Ubuntu. I then realized there was a problem: this house uses AOL with dial up. befuddlement
I now need to figure out how to configure Ubuntu to work with AOL's shit and get online. Good thing I have my trusty Mac and some wi-fi to steal. baddood;
lol oh god. can't help you.
also why still use AOL, isn't it like $24 a month still? hell my DSL only costs like $32 and I doubt eight dollars would break somebody's bank account. akudood;

My parents originally purchased both AOL and Optimum Online. They didn't listen to me and kept saying "nigga you need both to run that internets" so I thought "k, dont trust me and spend extra money madood;"
Then, the Optimum Online installation guy came in and said they didn't need both, and they were like "...Oh".

My father had AOL up until like 2 years ago, even though we were also paying for Charter.
he said we needed it for email and shit, and i kept telling him no

That's exactly how it was for me. They kept insisting that both services were necessary in order to use the Internet.
I rubbed it in their faces for weeks after they finally cancelled AOL's shitty service. caterpie;
I still am having trouble lol.
lol
We still have it for every computer except the one I am on
lol
I decide a unique plan of downloading wine and the aol installer for windows and copying them to my iPod and then Ubuntu.
Why is it so fucking difficult to find the AOL installer, especially with all of the discs they send out?

We had AOL until four years ago when we switched to Time Warner's Roadrunner and around that same time Time Warner bought AOL.
I had AOL like years ago, then we used SBC Yahoo, then we switch to Timewarner cable and hooked it to the TV and cable TV too.
Is the computer old lol?
