I finally got it.
By god it's a masterpiece. It is a work of art. It is so incredibly frightening, soothing, unique, and captivating all at the same time.
Anyone else have this album? Thoughts? Also, how is Ulver's other stuff?
Seriously one of the best pieces of work ever.
Nothing of theirs will compare to how awesome it sounds but Blood Inside has its moments while Shadows of the Sun also is pretty awesome. But Perdition City is defiantly the best of what I've heard.
Just so you know, Ulver is known for never sounding the same in every album.

I'm on the third song, and it's shaping up to rival Themes. Seems much more "accessible" than their other albums.

As a premise, I am a big Yes Fan.
I ask my friend to suggest some Ulver's Perdition City and Portishead sounding music and he suggested Teargas and Plateglass. I can't get enough of it, I'm sure you two would love it as much as I do.
The drums have the same awesome sound to them. Only 2 albums. Vocals are absent, in their place is some samples. Very awesome.

I just listened to some of their songs
Very interesting. Seems a little more ambient and open than Ulver, but has the same general feel, not a bad thing.

I really love their work with drums, the other work isn't something I really like.

I can't really say I know a lot about their style, but If you have heard of Explosions in the Sky they are basically a carbon copy of GY!BE but a little more colorful.

I didn't like them as much but they're good.
Gazpacho is a band Steal showed me. They're somewhere around post-rock.
