Somehow my brother fucked up my PlayStation 2 and now it won't read any games. :'( I either get a DRE, the 'Insert a PlayStation or PlayStation 2 format disc' screen, or after the white PlayStation 2 logo appears nothing will come up. wry
I WANT TO KILL HIM. :'(
suicide;
Buy a new one for <$50
Buy an 80 gb ps3 with backwards capability.

I had one of those old PS2's for a couple of years and it never did anything bad on me. I've had worse luck with Nintendo.
AKA my Wii is dead.

ps1 is guaranteed to fail as well as a good chunk of the ps2s made within the first 2 or 3 years.
I suppose the PS3 is better in terms of quality, but still no gaems

hell my 1st gen ipod died on me from a fall and that nigger fell on the carpet.
My PS1 died after a year, never bothered buying another one...

A portion of the earlier PS2 models broke (Mine did but a lot of other people I know still have their PS2 working to this very day) PS2 Slim line is awesome in quality, and the PS3 is almost guaranteed to never fail. I have 2 games for my PS3 and I have 3 in reserve right now, there's a few others I want to get but I'm saving money.

My first playstation (the big hulking grey fucker) lasted about 6-7 years. I consider that a pretty reliable console.

CD based consoles are always going to be less reliable than cartridge based mediums.

Sega Saturns are known for being of supreme quality. There's really no excuse for the PS1 to be so unreliable, aside from the fact Sony made everything out of shit grade plastic.

Yes, but CD's usually break easier because of all the lasers and high RPM's.
Cartridges are nice because they don't break that easy.

I'm talking about the system and not the games themselves.
but still, i've never heard of any saturn owner ever having any problems at all, but every person i've known with a ps1 has at least 2 because they fail so often
and same goes for about 50% of the people i know with ps2s

The Saturn is still a sturdy console.
I've never owned a Saturn, but I've had two DCs randomly fail on me. That doesn't change the fact that I love the Dreamcast.
