Title: My adventures outside of Technology...
Post by: Classic on June 18, 2008, 10:16:08 AM
I've been gone for a week. It all starts like this.

I've been going through a lot of crap lately. From death threats, to family fights, to the possibility of not going to college as planned. The shit starts to pile up. I got tired of it. I went and talked to my mother. And we worked something out...

I was to go camping by myself. There's a little get-a-way camping site just a few hours up north. My grandfather (who passed last January) had opened it to the family for any time use. I was to go alone. And I did. I spent 5 days up there. In nature, beautiful and wondrous. I did a lot of thinking out there. I thought about life, the future, and my career and college opportunities.

Here's the big part...
Hypocrite alert...
I smoked a blunt. I had a friend make one for me.
God dammit, I was sick for hours after that. Those things are not for me. But I can at least say I tried it.

Beyond that, I've realized my vices and short comings. I'm quick to judge, often angry, have mood swings (but I do have clinical depression and I am bipolar, so that's to be expected) and I think I'm always right, when even to me it's obvious when I'm not.

All I had was a cellphone and a laptop to get online. I've only been two places since I was there, but now that I'm back home I'm back here.

So yep. I had a revelation in my life. I'll try to be more acceptable to you guys, to my family, and to public.
I'm home. giggle;

That's great Classic! giggle;

It's good to take a break from... people in general once a year. I do that myself every summer. I go to our summer house (it's WAY less luxurious than it sounds) and I stay there alone for a week. We have satellite TV and I usually bring my PS2, but there's no internet access. Not that I'm complaining, it actually feels great to get offline for a bit. But in all, it's really the silence at night that gets me.

My favorite time of the year, hands down. spam;

Thank you. Sometimes we all have to swallow the pride and realize things about ourselves.

I figured that out from when it was first brought up. Ironically, I've seen people throw up from smoking but never on their first time.
