I just realized it.
Scar, which if I remember correctly is Mufasa's brother, kills Mufasa.
Scar becomes king.
Mufasa's ghost appears to Simba.
Simba goes and kills scar.
duhhhhhhhhh
I didn't realize that. O_0
Simba doesn't die and give the kingdom to Fortinbras.
I thought this was common knowledge.
It doesn't equate to it, but yes, it's definitely inspired greatly by Hamlet and draws from it numerous times.
Woah. I never noticed that
Kimba the white lion = Lion King

Kimba the white lion = Lion King
lol
Well, the only real controversy is the main characters' names, the lion theme, and the fact that a couple scenes look remarkably similar.
Apparently some people on The Lion King project knew about the similarities while others didn't. One guy thought it was actually a remake of Kimba, probably just because the original design of Simba was white and some people on the team for some reason kept referring to Simba as Kimba. Maybe they just hadn't decided on a definite name yet.
I never read hamlet. :(

Sure
if I wasn't lazy.
Ok, I'll tell you the story now then.
Once upon a time everybody died except for two minor characters and some guy from another country wins the day.

you should.
No thanks, Shakespeare bores me. We're reading King Lear right now, and I can barely keep my eyes open. And I never sleep in class
