Post by: FAMY2 on May 19, 2008, 11:47:46 AM
Do you make you feel better at times?

I sometimes listen to them when I'm down. I don't really have a lot to choose from, but they fit my mood. This one makes me think of my great uncle who died in WWI, and makes me wonder what else members of my family have been a part of:

Agreed. I didn't even realize it was sad until I listened to it once at night (I'm terrible)

This song leaks out onto the pavement
It could be a joke, it could be a statement
The more that I fake it and pretend I don't care
The more you can read in to what isn't there

Maybe it's time to stop swimming
Maybe it's time to find out where I'm at
What I should do and where I should be
But no-one will give me a map

I'll leave now this can't continue
But I forget which door I came through
And I know that the lift can be painfully slow
So I think I'll leave by the window
Seriously but for some reason Last Chance To Evacuate Planet Earth Before It Is Recycled is the one that had me about to cry, the lyrics aren't even that sad but for some reason it just got to me.

I love moody music.
This one is more gloomy and eerie than sad, but it is extraordinary. Also close the spoiler when you start the song, the stupid image in the video ruins the mood I feel.
Amon Tobin - Bloodstone
This one's great.
The Postal Service - Against All Odds
This one hits hard, it's all about betrayal. If you actually listen to the lyrics, they hit close to home, if you've gone through something like this.
Tonedeff- Loyal
I know a lot of people who have cried to this song, you might not be able to relate though.
Lil Wayne - I feel like Dying

Well, not the saddest of songs but they aren't the happiest songs either.

"Before the Great Collapse" - Jedi Mind Tricks
The song is basically a suicide letter from Vinnie Paz to his mother

"You Never Know" - Immortal Technique
Pretty sad with a nice message at the end

That's all I can think of right now.  doodthing;

Of course this song, one of the most emotional in my opinion that I can think of at the moment...

The video is great and fitting in my opinion, but it's up to you if you want to watch it w/ the song or not.

Maybe not sad, but this song definitely brings out serious emotions when I listen to it. it's probably one of my favorite songs ever.

Don't watch the video with it.

This song got me probably the closest I got to crying of all songs I ever heard. Those opening lines are absolutely brilliantly delivered, and the trumpet solo at the end, and then the epic riff on Vade Mecum at the very end.

Sorry the sound quality sucks and it's not the whole song, so I recommend just downloading it.

It's off the same album as the track Methree posted earlier. It's actually the next track.

That was easily the best part of The Wall. It's worth watching the movie just to see the Goodbye Blue Sky animation thing.

And the Empty Spaces one, too. Pretty much all the animated segments are awesome. Especially, so I've been told, under the influence of LSD.

Where's the generic Jeff buckley and gary jules? Nobody mentioned them? :|

Across the universe by the beatles is moody.
Whoever mentioned tom waits is right on.
Comfortably numb is probably on par with "goodbye blue sky"
Bridge over troubled water? What about "the only living boy in new york". Good old simon and garfunkel.
Debussy's "clair de lune"
Bob dylan's "A hard rain's a-gonna fall".  Very image laden.
"live for today" by the grass roots.

This is sad for me also, probably because it reminds me of my childhood.

And this song for some reason reminds me of love and how it may one day come to me. It gets me emotional.
