Is there any way to disable having to enter the name and password to install stuff? You see, for some reason, whenever I enter my username, it doesn't accept it. It used to, dunno what happened. Is there some way I can reset the username if I can't disable the thing?

Reinstall OS X.. Or remember your password.

Remembering it isn't the problem, it just won't accept it.

If I enter the wrong stuff, I get this.

But when I enter the correct information, I get this.

I'll try reinstalling it though.

Check the Users in the System Preferences. Though, you'll need admin privileges to change anything, but you can see if you should still have admin privileges or not.

I've tried both.

I still do. I can't find where it spells it out right in front of me, but I haven't created any other accounts or messed with it at all.

use the actual admin's information, assuming the one you're using is an additional account rather than the primary one that came with the OS
