Title: Could I do this at Best Buy?
Post by: C.Mongler on April 26, 2008, 11:33:21 PM
This pretty much vidya game related, but I think it could work here too/better. I stupidly accidentally ordered GTA IV online...for the PS3. I own a 360. Thus I can not play it. Once it ships here, if I take to Best Buy can I be like ' My homie got me this fora gift, but I have a 360 and they bought me the wrong version, can I exchange it?', will they be like 'Sure' or 'gtfo'? If not Best Buy, its there anywhere else I could do that at?

Also would I need my mommy with me to exchange an M game since I'm not 17  doodthing;

EDIT: I did not buy it from any retail chain's website and therefore do not have a receipt for any retail chain store.

Exchange your 360 for a PStriple and play something other than dumbed down PC games

There's not one game on the PS3 that I want that I don't already have on my 360 though  baddood;

If you have a receipt or something, they might let you. Otherwise I doubt it.

Also, is it too late to cancel the order or something?

I don't have a receipt, forgot to mention ordered it from a site completely unrelated to any retail chain. Also it already shipped.

just bring the receipt and they shouldn't object to it. It's just like a normal exchange.

Sell it on the internet for like $8 less and you'll lose a few dollars but should have enough in your pockets to cover the difference.

or program a ps3 emulator homey

Yeah, Lawlz pretty much has the best solution.

There's no way in hell they'll let you do anything with it if you don't have a receipt.

If it's still in the wrapper, I'm sure it's a possibility.

Wait for someone in line to walk up to the line with a copy of the PS3 GTA4, then ask them to buy the 360 one instead, and just trade them.

That seems possible, but would take too long and I don't want to stand around watching people get in line in hopes someone is buying PS3 GTA IV. Plus no one would probably do it, since they'd think I was trying to sell them just a box or something.

I think now I'll either just return it to the site (have to pay for shipping, wait like another week+ to play the game) or sell it to GameStop and re-buy the 360 version (I'll lose money). VOTE.

Say you got it as a gift but you don't know where from. Call ahead and ask them on the phone.

Okay well the site sent me an e-mail back, said tis no problem and that if I just write RETURN TO SENDER on the package when it gets here and stick it back in the mail, they'll give me a refund once they get it. So I'll send it back, rent it in the mean time, then buy it once I get my refund.
