In typing classes, they always teach people to rest their hands so that the wrists are in a static position and only the fingers move like in this picture:
(http://www.typingweb.com/tw4/images/fingers.gif)
When I type, I move my hands left and right and I might hit the same key with different fingers depending on what I'm typing. I also rotate my hand a little with certain words.
When typing "joking", I rotate my hand a little and position the pointer (1st) finger at J, middle (2nd) finger at O, move the pointer finger to K, middle to I, pointer to N, then use my left pointer finger to press G. With the 'correct' style, my ring finger should press O and my middle finger should press K.
It feels so much easier to not follow the style being taught in typing classes but the teachers always bothered me about it.
Also I never touch the left shift key and exclusively use the right one.
I'm assuming nobody here uses Dvorak.
I never cared for typing class, but nonetheless I think I actually do pretty much keep my fingers more or less in the vicinity of the home row. I move my hands a little bit, but only in increments of a centimeter or two at a time.
Actually, it probably has more to do with playing guitar than taking typing classes.
No, I type with index and middle finger mostly and use thumb for space, and my hands just rest all over the place.
lmao asdfjkl;
My hands just fly around everywhere but I type fairly fast.
I make many typos.
Mostly I keep my hands in a static position, unless I have to capitalise a letter that I have to type with my left hand as I never use the right shift key, so my fingers move over one place to the left when I'm doing that.

Both of these can also describe the way I type. Well, I also use my pinky some especially with shift.
Many of my typos are actual words. For some reason, a common typo I have for "typo" is "type" even though the keys are pretty far apart.
I don't even think about what fingers are at which keys usually, I just think of the position of the key and it feels like I just press it without realizing what finger I use to press it half the time.
The "mount-on-home-row-keys" bullshit makes you type slower. psyduck;
I Just use up to 3-4 fingers max.

Oh you and your innuendoes.
Well, sorta. That position is my neutral one, yeah, but I don't shift or use numbers the way those programs teach you to. I actually move my hands entirely for those rather than trying to stretch my little fingers or something. But for the most part, yeah, I do it that way.

No, if I'm not typing my right hand is usually on the mouse and my left in my pants or shoveling food into my mouth.
No. I type with only my two index fingers, but I was always the fastest typer in my class. But if the teacher came over, she yelled at me and made me type the "right" way, and I went super slow like everybody else.

Same here, I actually have remembered where all the keys are without looking down at my hands. I can type really quickly with just my index fingers.
I do... unless i'm not typing...
No, i move all over the place with my index fingers, but I can still type without looking at the keyboard.

I didn't even think of that.
You're so dirty minded Socks. <3
I only use my index fingers to type, thumbs for space, and my left ring finger for the left shift, So I'm all over usually.
I click to type. :|

I type with my forehead.
No, I leave one hand on my mouse and the other on my cock.
