oh say can you see
by the dawn's early light
what so proudly we hailed
at the twilight's last gleaming
whose broad stripes and bright stars
though the perilous fight
o'er the ramparts we watched
were so gallantly streaming
and the rockets red glare
the bombs bursting in the air
gave proof though the night
that our flag was still there
OH SAY DOES THAT STAR SPANGLED BANNER O'ER THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE
did i get that right. i always forget where the rockets red glare part goes
Why does it matter, you're already a citizen aren't you? Only immigrants have to learn it :P

Also, last year in Sacramento when we went to go see some fireworks on the 3rd of July (they started at midnight, so they were the first July 4th fireworks), they did the star-spangled banner differently. They had this kickass guitarist play an instrumental version of the song. He improvised a few extra things, doing some quick tapping and such here and there. It was awesome.
i think our national anthem should be something like smooth criminal

We always had to sing it during "pep fests" at school, so that's why I know it.
Also, I highly doubt that any of us know the entire song...just the first verse that is used as the anthem.

What? I've known the full song since middle school, we had to sing it everyday in line along with the pledge of allegiance.

When we lined up outside in class lines so the teacher could take roll, we shortly thereafter recited both songs.
