I was in programming and realized that my computer was like 180 degrees and it was on for less than 15 minutes. I checked stuff and saw that my battery life was low.
I shut my computer down until it cooled down and booted it back up. Same thing: I then checked activity monitor and saw that iScrobbler was using a crazy amount of my cpu. I quit it and my temperature dropped within minutes and my battery life more than doubled.
damn last.fm trying to melt my computer.
This is why I use the official client because it has nifty features.
but i think ya it uses the same amount of resources haven't checked the stats

iScrobbler says the official client is bloatware but i dunno how substantiated that claim is.
i just don't like the extra icon stretching my dock.
My G5 ran at 190 degrees regularly.
Imagine if your laptop was running on a PPC. powerofone;

you know last.fm can load without it appearing in the dock
it's some feature i don't care about
It doesn't do that for me.
Maybe you should quit it and restart it next time it does that. Teach it to behave.
I thought my processor hitting 150 was bad, lol.

Probably not the best way to measure the temperature, anyways. I'm pretty sure you're just measuring the temperature of the case.
How can you tell what temperature it is? doodthing;
