Title: Earthbound...
Post by: The Hand That Fisted Everyone on March 21, 2008, 09:48:14 AM
What's a reasonable price for Earthbound.

I saw one where it was just the cartridge for like 80$ plus shipping.

If I could find the cart for $45-50 that'd be an awesome price. Most auctions seem to go for $60+, though.

No, shut up.

If you resort to pirating a game then you can't even dare to claim to be a fan of the series.

and you're a terrible person

80$? eh, it's not bad, but I'm sure you could find it for around 60.

So if I live through the experience of the game I'm not a true fan of the series because I'm not shelling out $80 dollars for a single cartridge, and if I did the company that made the game wouldn't make any money off of if I did?

o okay lol

I feel weird just buying the cart though, but I don't want to spend 200$+ for it in the box.

GOD I WISH MY LOCAL PAWN SHOPS HAD BETTER STUFF  >.<

hey
so i was reading that other thread and somebody mentioned a patch coming out for earthbound that will make it english?
If I was to buy that, and get my friend to install the patch for me, would it work on my ds or gba without having to do anything for them?

I wish Nintendo would just translate them and release them on VC. If it's a money problem, how much could that possibly cost? doodthing;

Mother 3 is the only one that actually needs translating, and it's for GBA. doodthing;

Mother and Earthbound were both fully translated, but Mother (for some reason) just never got released outside of Japan.

They should release enhanced versions of all three on one DS game card. :'(

by "enhanced" i don't necessarily mean "o lol 3d graffix"
just translate and fix them so they works with the DS

And slip in a couple extra enemies. caterpie;

It would also be cool if they could port them to the DS, and for Mother 2, add in a side mission and extra town at the end of the game.

That would also be amazing, but of course it will never happen because Nintendo doesn't realize that people actually liked Mother/Earthbound. :(

Mother (for some reason) just never got released outside of Japan.

The planned release data in NA was close to that of the SNES, so they decided it wasn't worth releasing it. :(

It's nothing like Pokemon other than being a turn-based RPG.

And the adorable art style and monsters and overall light hearted feel.

Also, pirating EB does harm the developers because it will eventually be on the VC.

Why wouldn't Nintendo put Earthbound on the VC? psyduck;

If you even think you wouldn't, you're retarded.

Also, lack of a wireless connection isn't the developers' fault and it's not an excuse for blatant piracy.

They were emotionally hurt by the game's poor sales. :'(

but that's what happens when you expect the game to sell itself and slap "this game stinks" as a tagline on your work of art

Because Nintendo hates American Mother fans. They even took the demo of Earthbound out of Brawl for the American release.

Also, I have a wireless connection. It used to work but I've tried everything and now it doesn't.

Well, they'll at least release Earthbound because that's an instant $8 without a penny to lsoe

Maybe they didn't want anyone in the US to play the demo thinking they could buy it on American VC when they can't. As you've said, we don't have it on VC yet.

It can't be impossible to fix if you have everything necessary to get online. My Wi-Fi connection constantly stops working, and while it's very annoying to fix, it's not impossible.
