Poll
Question:
Read the thread before voting
Option 1: First Rule
votes: 4
Option 2: Second Rule
votes: 3
Option 3: Both Rules
votes: 29
Option 4: Neither Rule
votes: 3
Okay, after last night it's time to update the rules.
Proposition 1:
No quoting flash in posts. Remove the flash before quoting the post. Do not post excessive flash files per post. This means that you should only post 1 per post if it's an auto play file., unless you are using spoiler tags, then no more than 2. It's also advisable that you don't try avoiding this by just posting multiple times in a row.
Proposition 2:
For threads containing NSFW content, YouTube Videos, or Flash content you are required to include the proper message icon.
okie vote guys.
second rule is as far as I, and anyone else, will go to support the message icon rule.
Number 2
The 1st one is a bit confusing. O_0
i like #2 but 1 makes sense too so ok

I'll argue that threads about Youtube videos don't require the (http://boyah.net/forums/Themes/SAF/images/post/UTbe-MessageIcon.gif) tag, but for the rest, I agree.

Don't quote flash or youtube videos. Don't post more than 2 flash files per post, and if you post multiple ones put them in spoilers.
I agree for the most part. You might want to mention that there shouldn't be two Flash files on one page in any thread unless both are not auto-play. You don't want Flash file sounds to overlap. It's just annoying and stupid.
And Youtube threads might not need the icon, but whatever. The other two icons are probably necessary. The others are just a luxury.

I like the Youtube tag a lot. It lets me know to skip the thread
I voted for both
I'd also like a rule for all flashes which autoplay sound to be in spoilers (not counting in threads marked as flash), because I hate having to turn my computer to mute just because of somebody embedding a song in the chat thread >.<

You mean any auto-play flashes with sound. Ones that require you to interact shouldn't need to be put in spoilers. Good idea though.
Add both to the rules.
yay common sense has been made a rule
they're not really rules but yes i've always followed these ideas
I think that if a youtube video is embedded in the post, it should have the post tag thingy, but otherwise it shouldn't need it.

Yeah, I thought everyone had the common sense to realize what is and what isn't acceptable, but I guess not.
Before I vote, what is NSFW?

Not Safe For Work
Basically stuff not appropriate for being seen publicly or something like that, usually just means porn when we use it.

I think only three or four members here actually work, and I'm pretty sure none use a computer at work.

Yes it is, in a true democracy the people can choose whether to vote or not.
The voting total even looks as if it's giving the finger to someone, I wonder who that could be...

Poll's are not open ended, otherwise they'd be called rhetorical questions and choices. What matters is that if you wanted to vote you had a chance to, equal opportunity, equal time, fair results.

Technically it does, everyone had a few hours to vote, whether you were able to, or even care, is not irrelevant.

It's not a fair chance and only those that are up at the time the poll was open were able to vote.
It'd be like holding some polls open from 9AM to 11 AM. The only people that could possibly vote would be housewives or people that don't work, so they may not represent the general populace well.
