Ok, so I have EMbarq, but my mom wants to get rid of the phoneline. I'm going to have to pay for whatever internet I get.
If you don't mind, who is your ISP and how much is the bill
No dial-up please.
My internet is provided by a method prohibited by you... but my labtop has a broadband card.
Armstrong Cable Services
Free Internet/Tons of free channels and half a phone bill
Mom works at Armstrong thus the amazing deal spam;
I really should ban you for that.
I use Charter and it's expensive but it works well. We haven't had a phone in our house for three years.

Laptop, excuse my idiocy
There's a completely free, charity-run ISP you can get hooked up to if you're in one of the cities it provides to... it shows up a lot in stuff about connecting old Macs to the internet. LET ME FIND THE NAME

That one's $10/month, but I know I saw one once that was free.

I was thinking of getting that, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to get it out here where I live.
So do you like it?

Its better then what then the DSL I used to have. The DSL I used to have would go down at least 9 times a day. Ever since I've switched to cable, its gone down a total of 2 times. This is the speeds that I get up to.
