Title: HELP ME PLEASE
Post by: Lozal on May 13, 2007, 07:06:14 PM
Factor, please.

18b^2 - 89b = -36

Thanks. I can't seem to get it.

Shit, this is hard. It would be easy if you could pull a number out of 18b2 - 89b +36 = 0, but you can't because 89 is a prime number.

Dude, are you sure you've got the problem right? Maybe that's supposed to be a 81, not a 89? Seriously, it wouldn't make sense for them to give you a problem like this if you don't know the whole quadratic formula.

Okay, well thanks anyway. I think I'll just see if anyone in my class got the answer, and if so, I'll just get the factored from them. Maybe it's a typo in the book or something. D:

(9b - 4)(2b - 9)

Holy shit. I didn't even know how to factor, and I got it. I just looked up how to in my book, cause I really wanted to know how...

9b x 2b = 18b2
9b x -9 = -81b
-4 x 2b = -8b
-4 x -9 = 36

All of that shit put together = 18b2 - 89b + 36 = 0

I know. I can't even factor, and to me it looks just like the shit most of my classmates do with ease.
