Instead of a gay-o-matic?
faggot
Stick looks confusing. I want to get an automatic car.
I prefer a stick shift. I think you have better control of the car in bad weather and in dangerous situations.
I'd like to know how to do it, but don't know how to yet

YES! because you don't need the brakes to slow the car down, just downshift and bam, enginebraking.

My grandmother has one, she wants me to learn on it, but I fear that I'll mess something up somehow and I don't think it's worth the risk of damaging her practically new car.

Empty parking lots are good, so are long driveways. That way you won't hit anything.
And honestly worst thing you'll do is kill her starter motor if you stall the damn thing 2843652834756 times.
Why the fuck do people think Manuals are hard to drive?
It's really easy if you think about it. baddood;

I learned on a brand new car and didn't mess up anything. I even down shifted from third to first instead of going to fourth once. Just do the parking lot thing. Stopping and starting is the hardest.

Stopping isn't too hard you just have to make sure you hit the clutch to if you are going to make a full stop.

Le gasp!
I can't even drive an automatic. :(
I can, yeah. I'm not the smoothest driver ever on a stick, but it's really not as difficult as people say it is. Most of the time I'd rather drive an automatic because I'm lazy, but there's times when I just really enjoy that CHK-VOOOOM CHK-VOOOOM CHK-VOOOOOOOOOOM going down the highway.
I learned on an old stick Firebird that my dad has... probably one of the most fun to drive cars ever.
I've driven manual once, and it wasn't that hard.
I DECIDED THAT I SHALL TEACH MYSELF TO DRIVE A STICK

Oooo I'm with you.
Ya, I want to learn how to drive stick, because I hear it makes you an overall better driver.

No matter what driving a stick is much more fun as long as you're not in traffic. Those of you who have driven a stick in traffic know what I'm talking about. Stop... go... stop... go.
