Title: If I were to be in an exchange student in another country, which one should I?
Post by: musica.cards on January 08, 2008, 03:37:03 PM
I'm looking at going to Japan or Germany when I get the chance, but I'm not entirely sure which one to go to, or if there's a better country I should go to.

Edit: Could you guys explain why the country you mentioned is a good one to go to?

I'm thinking Australia, because I've never been to the eastern or southern hemisphere, and that would nail down both. I'm also interested in learning about its pre-European history, and I'd think it would be a fun year in a study abroad program or something.

London, Germany, Japan, Australia, or  Canada.
Any of those would be great. Bolded are where I'd want to go most.

One of these things is not like the others. One of these things just doesn't belong

Spain and Argentina because i know spanish and i like both cultures.  Also, people in Argentina are almost always very hot. Not saying that they all are.

London, Italy and Paris seem like great places to visit for an exchange student.  Italy would be the least interesting in my opinion but its still pretty good.

If you are going to get a better education or something like that you should pick London.

I'd love to be an exchange student to the school a few miles away.

For what I have in mind, it kinda defeats the purpose.

You have to have a fair grasp on the language if you are to be selected as an exchange student. befuddlement

I'm not even of age yet. I'm just asking now so I start taking the required 1-2 year class for that language (depending on which organization would be responsible for my exchange).

I've actually deeply considered doing a semester abroad for the first half of next year... my choice would either be France, because I have enough knowledge of it to understand most things being said to me and do mediocre speaking, or somewhere completely foreign but interesting. That would probably be some place like Estonia, or Ukraine, or Iceland, I dunno.

I've really wanted to become semi-fluent in Russian or some slavic language for awhile now, so doing that over the summer and spending a few months in the USSR might be cool.
