I usually just toy with the until I know how they work. Of course, I'll skim through the manual first. powerofone;

With machines such as computers I just play around with them.

For things like games I'll read the manual though

I just mess around with it.

Especially for easy to use programs on the computer like Microsoft Office, GIMP, Paintdotnet, Windows XP, GlovePIE, etc., it's way better to mess around with it for a bit than to read a 500 page book on the program goonish

I can honestly say that I've never once read the manual for a game system. As far back as when I was 5, I never needed a stupid book to tell me to put the yellow connector in the yellow plug, white in white, and red in red. pseudo;

The only time I've looked at the manual for my computer was to see what specific parts it has before upgrading.

If I've never anything similar to it before, I'll just skim through the manual, but I like playing with stuff and finding out about it myself.

I never even open the manual unless I'm utterly clueless. Which doesn't happen often.

Mess around with them. Except my calculator, because I have no fucking clue how that works or where most things are, so I ask teachers.

My Trig teacher just taught everyone in the class how to use graphing calculators from the start.

Which would be why most uneducated consumers buy PCs because they don't even know what Macs are.

So Mac attempts to make itself look better by pulling some NDP style mudslinging.

I swiped a 300 dollar calculator before, myself.

I can't figure it out, and the manual doesn't even make sense.

Jesus, how have I never noticed that? It's been a year since I've needed that button, I've just been putting in square root(-819) or whatever to get it to output a number in terms of i until now.

Lol, everyone in my school is pretty calculator-dependent so you learn your way around one pretty quickly.

I remember last year when I discovered the matrix functions, it saved my ass on multiple tests... multiplying out huge matrices and shit.
