Many people who say 360 is better, has no legitimate source to back up their answers. PS3 - The PS3 is JDM, it's made by Sony. Sony = Japanese.
360 - The 360 is made by Microsoft. Microsoft = American.
Therefore PS3 is more reliable, it's like a Honda and Toyota, it goes for long mileage and have a lot of aftermarket parts(Games).
The 360 is less reliable because it's like a Chevy and Ford. it goes for short mileages before it breaks down with the rings of death and you have to do maintanence in it by sending it to Microsoft's Auto shop. 360 doesn't have any games, it only has Halo 3 which is the only thing it has. The PS3 has better games like Guitar Hero 3, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, Gran Theft Auto 4 and much more.
I'll give you 11 reasons.
*Cell Processor- The cell processor is an extremely powerful micro processor built of 8 processors (SPE's) and one PPE. This processor is built for extreme amounts of processing and is very useful for multi tasking through artificial intelligence, physics, lighting navigation, etc- The xbox 360 has a 3 core processor, which is strong in general processing, albeit not the best for video games.
*RSX GPU- The RSX is a powerful GPU which is specialized to work with the cell processor to render DX10 like graphics by pooling it's RAM.- The xbox 360's GPU can only handle DX-9, while is good in the graphics department, though not the best.
*Blu Ray- The next generation disc medium which can store up to 50GB (100GB in experimental models) The extra space allows game developers to make large responsive environments, complex artificial intelegance, HD video and audio, etc. without compression.- The xbox 360 only uses DVD for games, which can only hold 9GB, which results in short games, aka Halo 3, Bioshock, and gears of war.
*Other operating systems- The ps3 can get different operating systems installed, such as Linux, allowing it to be an alternative computer, and you can install many diferent programs.- The xbox 360 cannot do this
*Web browser- The ps3 has a decent web browser, which you can go to many different web sites with, it does have basic flash updates, but it does need to be improved upon, including in java, though this can be fixed easily via a firmware upgrade. Many popular sites like myspace and youtube are accessable though.- the xbox 360 doesn't have one
*Play TV- Pretty much Tivo for your ps3, a tuner that you can record things with. Though it has only been announced to launch in Europe so far.
*Interchangeable hard drive- This pretty much means you can change the size of your hard drive with any hard drive so you can store more things.- you have to buy an expensive MS HDD for the 360
*Built in wifi- Wifi lets you connect to the internet wirelessly- With the xbox 360 you have to buy a wifi adapter for $100, this comes standard in the PS3.
*Free Online- the xbox 360 costs $50 per year
*Playstation Home- Playstation home is an interactive community of ps3 users where you can play games or meet up with friends and hang out at your virtual home and hang outs, as well as stream live media(releasing in october, and is FREE)
* Games- For now good games include; Heavenly Sword, Resistance Fall of Man, Rainbow Six Vegas, Folklore, warhawk, lair, and motorstorm. Good upcoming games are Ratchet and Clank Future, Call of Duty 4, Haze, Uncharted:Drakes Fortune, Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo Prologue, Eye of Judgment, LittleBigPlanet, SOCOM confrontation, Tekken 6, Time Crisis 4, White Knight Story, and Final Fantasy XIII. Over 300 games will be released by next spring.

The only good exclusive game from 360 is a decent game. and that decent game is halo 3. 360 really needs a good exclusive. games like mass eflop and stuff failed miserably. i'm glad i own a ps3, it has a lot more better games than 360. such as metal gear solid 4, gran turismo 5, final fantasy 13, haze, unreal tournament 3, killzone 2, motorstorm, heavenly sword, eye of judgement, time crisis 4, ninja gaiden sigma, etc.
360 has no games.
If you need a "source" to back up your opinions on liking a game, then you're trying too hard to support a bag of crap. And yes, that was the guy's name.
also too bad he doesn't realize the cell is a piece of shit that can't even handle half-life 2 and that sony is notorious when it comes to horrible build quality of their products psyduck;

Half Life 2 uses the x86 architecture, and Cell isn't x86. They'd have to redo the entire game to get it to work.
And CPU power has very little to do with game performance. As long as it doesn't bottleneck the GPU, its adequate.

That's hilarious. The idiot has no clue what he's talking about. I got a good laugh out of what he said about the GPU. Not only does the PS3 not support DirectX 10, but it doesn't use DirectX at all, to my knowledge. It's built for OpenGL. Microsoft owns DirectX.

Also, the PS3 is hardly as powerful as Sony likes to act. They keep pushing the Cell processor, when processing power is hardly the most important thing for a gaming system. The GPU is what matters above all, and the PS3's GPU is mostly comparable to a GeForce 7800. Of course, because that's quickly becoming outdated, Sony would never actually say that.
Also, less disk size = shorter games? Last I checked, it depends on how much work a developer wants to put into the game. Not how much space they have to work with. We have multi-disk games for a reason.
PS3 fans make me laugh. As far as I've seen, the PS3 just makes a good footrest. Doesn't have many other uses.
