Technically the most efficient way to travel to far reaches of our galaxy would be to time travel right?
Because time traveling is the walking of the 4th dimension.
hmm y couldnt this have been put in that other thread
I just can't understand how time travel could possibly be simply walking. How can we be sure that there are other dimensions, anyway? myface;
Time travel isn't possible.

Anything is possible once you've sniffed enough glue.

If we travel faster than the speed of light, it's time traveling. But thats impossible.
Also by can't we just make a ship that freezes you so you wake up when you get there?

Traveling faster than the speed of light could be possible, but it's not time travel per se. It's more like slowing time in a set area. Travel to the past=Not possible. Slowing down time in order to extend life and go farther into the future
may be possible.
Time travel is technically possible, but the way that special relativity works is such that it's completely impractical even if we harnessed all the energy the Earth puts out in a century.
That's speaking in the realm of conventional physics, of course. caterpie;
how about we worry about stuff on our planet and things in our own reach psyduck;

It just means everything that is traveling faster than the speed of light is actually traveling slower in our idea of time which is the idea of time travel. At least thats what I understand from it.
Some guy had a book on how time travel would be if it were possible. Later in the book he shows how it isn't physically possible.

Correction: Time travel
going backwards is impossible.

It's not possible period, it's just even more impossible going backwards in time.

WHAT IF WE LEARN TO MANIPULATE GRAVITY AND WE CREATE A WORM HOLE AND TAKE ONE END AND ACCELERATE IT TO A VELOCITY THAT IS FASTER THAN LIGHT, CAUSING TIME DILATION?
ONE END OF THE WORMHOLE WOULD BE IN THE FUTURE AND THE OTHER WOULD BE IN THE PRESENT, SO WHILE IT WOULD SEEM THAT WE CAN ONLY GO TO THE FUTRUE, THOSE IN THE FUTURE COULD COME TO THE PAST.

Fine, but technically, we are going forward in time, as we speak.

It's possible that the spoon will melt all over your pie if you only heat the spoon and not the pie.
