Because this guy takes the cake. ness;
Read his review of OSX Leopard
http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,2214921,00.asp
Then compare it to his review of Ubuntu 7.04 he wrote back in April.
http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,2124099,00.asp
He finds a total of four flaws, and he gives Ubuntu a 4/10.
Three of which being, he can't install Flash Player, video drivers, of a DVD codec. All of which are super easy to do. And the fourth was the System Migration Tool didn't work with his Vista account, but he didn't care because he doesn't use Windows. china;
Hes his own summary at the end:
Cons: Didn't install and configure video drivers, Windows Migration tool didn't work.
Summary: Past releases of Ubuntu have been better than this. Still worth a look since it's free but if you just want something that works without configuration headaches then try Xandros or buy a Mac.
Xandros?
And in his Leopard review, he says the blue balls in the dock that show which application is opened is hard to see, but its easily fixed by switching the dock to 2D.
And he said Mail was buggy, but he uses Gmail's web service anway.
Guess what, Leopard got a 10. I should have guessed that when he said while he waited for Tiger to upgrade, he browsed the Internet on his iPhone.
Oh, and have a look at Extremetech's forum about this article.

It has the author Jim Lynch trying to form a feeble argument, which basically sounds like William Shatner as he shoots off Apple vs Vista factoids.
For Vista:
'BSOD, incompatible drivers, slow, old, doesn't work, droves of people flocking back to XP'
For Mac:
'It just works, Parallels, Boot Camp, VMWare, Crossover, blah blah blah, iFag'

I know, which makes it worse. He could at least spend a little bit of company time, and do some research before he goes around slamming Vista and making untrue claims.

Well, Vista can't be great if there are a lot of people DOWNGRADING to XP.

Says Mr. Lynch. :P
He had no evidence to back himself up, and everyone on the Extremetech Forum was telling him that he was completely wrong. burned;

Vista isn't a bad OS, just not worth using it because they decided to make many things not compatible with it and companies that made products and programs aren't going to make them compatible, they'll just hope you buy the new version of programs and their products.

I can name off quite a few apps that aren't yet compatible with Leopard. caterpie;
Though most every OS X developer is a raving Apple fanatic, so they'll have everything moved to Leopard by the end of them month.

graphical user interface renovations somehow messed up software compatibility

pretty much all x11 apps have compatibility problems, but that's because people using tiger or whatever without the latest x11 build or whatever compiled it and leopard uses some completely updated version of x11 and it causes that app to look for the older edition of x11 which of course doesn't exist on your system
Of course, compiling the app yourself would solve this problem, but for some reason, Gimp hates my system and won't compile because it says a certain file isn't in the GIMP folder so it seems more like something was left out which seems unlikely but it's not so much a fault with my system.
Also, there are a few little apps like Pixen that I really can't explain why they don't work.

Or maybe I shouldn't have installed Leopard until I slapped on those CS3 cracks. If I had done that, I'd have no need to deal with Gimp or anything. caterpie;
