Not at all, do not expect any sense of continuity or a basic ongoing plot in the Mario series.

I would but they're just opinions.
I think you should explain why it was so bad. And for one, who cares about story. If it had a real story that was somewhat decent it would make itself look like Sonic (any 3D sonic game past adventure 2) and make it dreadfully cheesy.
