If Solid Snake actually wasn't the main protagonist of Metal Gear solid 4, Raiden would reprise his role as the main character.
I personally like Raiden just as much as Snake or Big boss. Sure, Raiden may not have been nearly as cool, but he's far more dynamic as a character then Snake or Big boss.
