It only eights about 5.4 pounds
Oh thanks for pointing that out. china;
That makes me want one actually, if it wasn't for the price, i'd get one.
If it didn't come in that ugly aluminium case, I'd get one over a MacBook, but I cannot stand the aluminium.
It sounds incredibly awesome. Once I get a job, I'm really considering saving up for it.

7.5/10 for price? Jesus it's $2000. psyduck;
I don't care how great quality it is, it's still damn expensive.

CARS ARE OVER $10000 BUT WHAT GOOD ARE THEY THEY DON'T GIVE YOU A JOB LIKE A COMPUTER DOES IT ONLY TAKES YOU THERE THOUGH A COMPUTER OPENS UP AN ENTIRELY NEW WORLD TO YOU EVEN AT HOME.
Also, updated the homepage.
And try to go with 7.5 size font from now on, because 7 just seems too damn small and 8 looks a little big and out of place.

If you read the section, I said that it's worth the price. It is a high quality computer. Also, when I was looking at other laptops they were only slightly cheaper. The Sony Vaio was around the same price and it had nearly the same specs. People tend to exaggerate the higher cost of apple products.
Quote$1938.99
and as low as $ 56.65 /month

It's less than 100 dollars cheaper and the only thing it has the the MBP doesn't have is a Blu-Ray Reader.

Apple will begin to include Blu-Ray burners within a year, and in probably less than 8 months.
Still, I'd highly prefer HD-DVD over Blu-Ray.

Fine, if you're doing it that way--50GB is still much better than 30GB.

You're just comparing that to DVD's 8.5GB. Remember how they fit movies on 700MB? Well, we fit movies and games on 8.5GB and we can also do 50GB. Think about the possibilities.
But really, BluRay and HD-DVD should do something and have some universal format like DVD's these days.

I think we have enough shit games loaded down with cutscenes. Gradius can fit into a few kilobytes and not be packed with shitty movies like Final Fantasy, yet Gradius is still an amazing series.

More space could be used in more detailed environments and character models, not cutscenes. psyduck;

...DVD is sufficient for most games, and HD-DVD would be more than enough. Why go for pricier Blu-Ray? psyduck;
K. You didn't change my opinion on anything, but whatever. I've already wanted a Pro for quite a while. Maybe my on-campus Apple store has some.

Really? Because JMV's MacBook Pro provides no power advantage over the top-end MacBook.

You actually think integrated graphics with an assload of RAM will eqaute to a dedicated graphics card and extra processing power?

I've got a top-end Macbook with 3.3 Gigs of RAM, a 22" ultrasharp Monitor...what advantages does JMV's MacBook Pro offer? The 128mb of VRAM? I've got 224. Well? Prove me wrong, dumbass. Saying "lulz" just makes you look like an idiot.

ASKDJFASDKLFKSL:
Some people need power. Most people don't. I was simply asking why he got the Pro over the other. Seems to me it's wasted money on a Freshman who probably won't need it for 3 more years. He could have got the MacBook, saved the other money for when he actually needs more power.
Though I don't actually know anything about him. He could really need it, which is why I asked the question instead of throwing out vague psuedo-intellectual quips with no basis. : |

You're also forgetting that his macbook pro is not more powerful than the top-end macbook so he spent 500 dollars on 2 inches of screen space
Yeah, I mean if he had saved the money, he'd be able to sell the MacBook in a few years and get a Pro when he needed it.
But the MacBook Pro does have a dedicated video card, which the MacBook doesn't have. And is required to run Aperture, among other video intensive/RAW image editing applications.
I wants a mac :(
I'm building my own computer though. :)
