Apple announced some new stuff today. Notably updates to all current iPods and the addition of an iPod Touch, which is basically iPhone without the phone and EDGE browsing (although it still has Safari for use with Wi-Fi).
They also slightly redesigned the regular video iPod (now the iPod Classic), and made 80gb the low end and 160gb the high. I might try to sell my current 5.5g 30gb to get one of those.
iPhone prices were also lowered to $399 for the 8gb, and the 4gb was axed.
And of course the 160gb iPod classic.

It looks dwarfish... I'm not a fan of it. I liked the old aluminum ones much more.

I don't like either caterpie;
Needs a bigger screen to be worthwhile in my opinion
I'm getting the 80gb next week, for $200 off( $50)

$200 student discounts apply to iPods, too?
Damn, I need to be in college.
How do you get the discount (what identification do you have to have)?

$170 for 8gbs which can't fit too much, especially video wise.
Then the screen is smaller then a GBA. I'd rather get anything above it, iPod Touch or classic is fine.

You better hurry, the iPod offer ends september 16th.
Basically, the offer was that if students bought a Mac, they'd get a discount on the computer, or a free iPod Nano. The iPod Nano could be substituted for any other iPod and any difference above the $200 is what would have to be paid.
The same thing happened with my printer, I got a 100 dollar rebate.
I needed to show them ID and proof of enrollment--I showed them my acceptance letter and my permit.

New iPod models don't count though so have fun with your old iPods.

Yeah they do, that's why I'm not getting my iPod until next week.
Unless you're talking about the touch iPod, which I don't want. The largest one only holds 16GB, and it's only a little less than an actual iPhone.
I'm getting either the 80 or 160 gig ones.

I read that it doesn't count towards that.
