Not building this computer in a suitcase anymore. Instead... I am going to construct a custom case completely out of wood, save for the metal motherboard mounting tray, and probably the HDD bay.
I'm going to lattice one of the sides for ventilation (and for good lookingness), and make a cool design on the other side from wood inlay.
The only difficult parts will be mounting things inside the case (the wood I'm using is too thin for most screws), and making the power button. And carving out the exact size of the I/O on the motherboard will be annoying.
And when I'm done I'll lacquer/varnish it, and it will be amazing.
ALSO, COVER THE CASE IN MOTOR OIL AND USE ALCOHOL AS THE COOLANT.
You forgot to say take pictures of it and post on boyah.

Hardware would die before it got hot enough to ignite wood. thumbup;

You need a spark to ignite it.
You cheap bastard.

Buying the wood and a couple decent woodworking tools, and probably a dremel with a rotary blade attachment, and all the hours of work, is probably going to be more expense than a regular case.

Then buy the case. I don't see how putting so much time and money on something like this. I mean come on, who are you trying to impress? You're not wining the Nobel peace prize or anything.
Its just a computer psyduck;
Its what inside that counts navi;
Wood? Of all things...
Cool.

You've never built anything have you, wood is expensive, especially what he'd use.

I still don't understand why he doesn't just buy one rather than spending all that on wood and shit. That's what I call cheap.

Maybe. If I'm going to lacquer/varnish it, it doesn't necessarily have to be really nice wood. Just the right thickness.

3 YOCTOMETERS.
Cut out a box and put the I/O plate for the Motherboard into the box.
