You can't have "bipolar," but you can have "bipolarism." educate;
Doctors think a lot of people are bipolar these days. Would you characterize yourself as someone who commonly has sudden mood swings, manic episodes, depressive episodes, etc?
My thigh itches, and he keeps putting on he's away on AIM. emo;

Cool. So do most other "depressed" people. caterpie;
Of course, I can't really be sure, but it's just hard to believe someone's really bipolar these days when half of America's teens these days go through phases where they call themselves "bipolar."

Seriously. I'm sort of wondering why she went to a "doctor" for psychological symptoms anyway. psyduck;

I went to a doctor the first time, then she was like, "Uuh, I don't know much about mental health", then she recommended me to go psychiatry. powerofone;

I say doctors because it's shorter. And psychologists are a type of doctor.

Psychologists aren't, but psychiatrists are. The difference is that psychiatrists go to medical school and are able to prescribe medicine. Psychologists can provide therapy, but not with medicine. They also aren't considered actual physicians (doctors), because of course they don't go to medical school.
