Title: Law & Order
Post by: Daddy on August 23, 2007, 03:56:26 PM
Great Show, am I right?

Why did Jerry Orbach have to die? :(

Yes, but the detectives are a bit more boring than those of the spin-offs.

Those, however, take a hit for cases clumsily based on recent events (though they always through in a murder or two {also maybe the original does this, too; I haven't seen any new episodes for a year or two}).  Both SVU and CI mostly ignore the trial aspect, too.

oh and jack mccoy is cool ^______^

The only episode I've watched is the one where that teenage kid molests his little brother and then sells videos of it on the internet, since he manages his own CP site. navi;

Terrible show and I hope you fucking die for even saying it's great. I hate with intensity. A good... Nay, great cop show would be Homicide: Life on the Street. See, it actually has characters with story arcs and great murder plots!

I prefer SVU and CI to the original series, but regular Law and Order is good too.

All three are sht. I hate SVU for trying to be Homicide. God dammit, just mentioning their lives in a few episodes is not a fucking character arc, you shitfucks.

A lack of character history does not indicate a lack of personality.  psyduck;

Besides, the shows are about the cases, not the cops.

Exactly what I was going to say.

The characters are developed enough to the point where it's a quality show.  Not everyone is like Andrew where they have to know what color shirt Detective Green wore on his second day of first grade.

Without you caring for anyone on the show, what makes you tune in? The interesting murders? Nope, they're not all that interesting.

The show has one of the most lazy forumlas I've ever seen. Rip a plot from the headlines, change names, and create some differences. Ugh. The first two seasons of Law & Order were great, though. Everything after that... Not so much.

go watch homicide guff :|
