Supposedly, there's a store selling them around $100 today.
Are you stupid? You might as well get a beta track

No, then I'd buy a Blu-Ray player.
PROTIP: Sony always fails.
Get me one awesome;

HD-DVD is going to fail but okay.
Also only reason to get HD-DVD player is to play high def DVDs. Is there a link?

No, it's a local store and my mom said they have HD-DVD players for $79-99.

Yeah but HD-DVDs will be dirt cheap in a year, and that will be the time I get one.

Yeah, the PS2 SUX. Also, so does every other device they make.
I'm just gonna say go for the HD-DVD player. Seeing you waste money is funny.

About the PS2 sucking? Of course. The PS2 was awesome, and the other devices they make are very reliable.

I hated that the first two years of PS2 were complete failure and the hardware was a piece of junk. It's like the 360 is really the PS3.

Yeah, and I have a chance to get an HD-DVD player dirt cheap right now. Any device that doesn't get support will fail, so if everyone waits for a winner to be decided, we'll be stuck with DVD forever.

No we won't. I guarantee you Blu Ray will prevail due to the PS3's ability to play them AND Blockbuster's selection of Blu Ray movies already. If I had a PS3 I'd rent some Blu Ray movies just to see what it looks like.
You know that DVDs prevailed because of rental stores like Blockbuster? Go to a Blockbuster and tell me how many Blu Ray movies they have and how many HD-DVDs they have.

PROTIP: Blockbuster's decisions determine nothing. Nor does a failing system.
Name a Sony media format that has been successful. Minidisc have some mild popularity in Japan, but that's it.

Mini discs weren't ever in Blockbuster
Name a video media format that IS successful but isn't in Blockbuster. Has to have movies on it.
Also get HD-DVD DL player if you really really want one.

Just because they carry it, it doesn't mean Blockbuster was what made it successful.
Burger King sold Xbox 360 games. Does that mean the 360's success is a result based solely on the fact they sold games for that system?

Read it all, and I'm still not amused.
No one gives a damn about Blockbuster anymore. An 'anonymous tipster from an unnamed retailer' means jack shit.

Oh hi, I get free rentals at Blockbuster because I pay $30 a month and I have a PS3, why not watch some HD quality movies?
Thats what most people think if they have Blockbuster Total Access and a PS3 by the way.

No one gives a damn about Blockbuster. Netflix is gaining popularity, but overall, the movie rental business is going down the shitter.

Blu-ray DVD.

I never said Blockbuster was too smart, but it may just be a way of showing people that Blu-Ray is the next media format to switch to. The renal business isn't going downhill you dumbass. Tell me what made you believe that. I never rented any DVDs until this year and I do it a lot now. They have those plans that let you rent as many movies as you want in a month for like $30 which is what I do, and they send them in the mail too so I can get almost any movie with English Subtitles ever, as long as it's not a hardcore porn. ;_;
Anyways you seem to be ignorant again but I'll just bump this thread in a year when you're watching some HD-DVD movies.
And I bet you that we're both wrong and they make HD-DVD/Blu-Ray hybrid discs.

Actually, I really don't watch movies. It's just my parents, and whenever they rent a movie (about once a month), it's from Hollywood Video. There's only one Blockbuster in my whole city, but loads of HV's.

Exactly, your parents rent movies.
Also I think Hollywood has Blu-Ray and had HD-DVD but stopped supplying them since Blu-Ray was selling better. Am I correct?

Really? I've never rented from them but I do buy games from Game Crazy wub;
Also "Movie Gallery (NASDAQ: MOVI) based in Dothan, Alabama, is the second largest movie and game rental company in the United States, behind Blockbuster Video."
