So last night, I went to see Muse Live. flower;
We left at around five, and headed into Manhattan. We stopped by the comic shop for awhile before heading to the Garden at 6:30. Then we had to wait half an hour to be let in. Before going in, I bought a shirt (Overpriced, though. emo;). Then we had to wait for around another half hour to be seated and such.
We eventually were seated, and had to sit through an hour of waiting. Then, The Cold War Kids came on to play a few songs (opening act). They weren't that bad.
Cold War Kids finished at around 8:45. We had to wait through a twenty minute intermission for Muse to come on. Everyone was singing along when they played "Back in Black" during the intermission, though. china;
9:05, the lights went out, and a message scrolled across the huge screens on the stage. After that, Muse jumped on stage and kicked things off with "Knights of Cydonia". Everyone in the seated areas stood up and started jumping, dancing around, headbanging, etc;.
A few more songs in, they played "Supermassive Black Hole". On the screens you could see robot-like things marching with a trippy, red background behind them. Easily one of the best songs they played. Then came "City Of Delusion". This time on the screen was just a city crumbling, not that interesting.
Then came "Hysteria". Awesome song, even more awesome live. thumbup;
"Space Dementia" was next, on the background were green lines that popped up every time Mathew hit a note on the piano.
Skip ahead awhile, they played "Plug In Baby". They dropped a bunch of balloons on the crowd for this one.
After that, the lights went off and they left the stage. Of course, this was the part where everyone took out their cellphones and lighters and screamed and stomped for more.
Eventually, Muse came back out with Mathew saying that was exactly what he wanted us to do and the band started playing "Soldier's Poem". Everyone kept the lighters and cellphones waving throughout the song.
Next was "Butterflies and Hurricanes", not much to describe here.
"Newborn" was next, not much to describe here either, but it was definitely awesome.
Skip ahead, Muse played "Unintended", which, according to Bellamy, was a song they "had never played in this country before".
Muse played "Take a Bow" as the last song, descending something that look like a blade halfway through the song.
Muse left after that, and me and my friends had to spend twenty minutes trying to get out in the huge crowds. gonk;
I absolutely loved Muse's performance, and they're much. much better playing Live and when there are a thousand people singing along. Too bad I got stuck near the back where everyone was lighting up blunts all around us. I still got a great view of the band, though.
So, that was my experience. wub;

rofl generic classic rock list
But don't get me wrong, I like classic rock, just in moderation.
Also, Muse is just a rock band. They're not emo or anything that goes with a style like that.
Have fun Thief. I like what little I've heard by Muse. thumbup;
That's not generic at all. Find someone else who has even heard of Electric Light Orchestra or The Cars. Find someone else who likes Supertramp, or Three Dog Night, or Kansas. I'm sure you've probably not heard of any of those, I, on the other hand have heard quite a bit of Muse and it's still basically conforming with a lot of the whiney-voiced rock bands of today.

I'm guessing you're saying this just because Mathew's voice is high?
At least they don't make a bunch of crappy songs complaining about their lives like the mainstream bands in the U.S.

I don't like any current bands...in any country.
Scissor Sisters and Basement Jaxx are aight, but that's where I draw the line.

I would like it if bands were still making good songs, like Don't Stop Believing, Piano Man, stuff like that.
But songs nowadays just aren't the same. If there's a band that had similar style to the Rock n' Rollers of the 80's I'd listen to them.

I hate you
I love Muse. I MUST see them live before I die.
I saw Muse last summer, it was an amazing show... I had front row seats (it was a seated venue, unfortunately) about six feet from Matt. My only gripe is that the set was too short.
I saw Muse last year at a festival, but I left 3/4 of the way through because I was bored and unfamiliar with their material. Fortunately, they're playing at the same festival this year so now I can see them and actually enjoy it.
