It's called the "Video games made me do it" defense. It's actually happening alot lately. It's just so easy to claim that a video game trained them while the majority of judges and such have no clue whatsoever what video games are except for how the media portays them. (Murder and sex simulators)
Also, "i tried to do a shadow clone jutsu and rob a bank once" I lol'd at that comment

I'm sure video games really do inspire some dumbasses to do this.
Most of us have common sense and don't act on it, although many of us would like to steal cars and run over people, but there's always at least one that does it.
