i would like to personally apologize to hiro.

 first of all, i would never say such a thing today. when i made that post, i was much younger, more naive than i am now. there were a lot of perspectives at the time that i hadn't considered, and as such, i realize i might not have been sensitive to a lot of issues we're seeing prevalent today. and for that, i truly am sorry. second, i would never actually want someone to eat paint chips. paint chips don't actually provide any nutritional value. furthermore, depending on the type of paint, it's lead content, and other factors, it could even prove fatal to the one ingesting it. of course, i do not wish death or bodily harm on ANY boyager. again, at the time i was just making a joke, but i've learned a lot and i now realize that sometimes things that we can think are jokes really aren't funny on the end of the receiver. and for that, i really am sorry. i'm not going to sit here and claim i'm perfect or that i will never make a joke that's never going to be seen as offensive or ill-thought. i'm human; i'm going to make mistakes. what commitment i can make to you however is that i will continue to learn and to grow and to understand other's point-of-view so that i will hopefully not make such remarks again in the future.
