green grapes

disapproved; neither as firm nor as flavorful as their red counterparts

i mean, green grapes can definitely be really firm. depends on the time of year, the brand, and thus the farm they came from. i try to only buy them if they're on sale and they're nice and firm and adequately tart (definitely not into green grapes for sweetness)

btw, i've found that for sweet grapes, black ones are actually better than red

it's possible i've never had a good green grape in my life

they're always too sweet and too limp >.<

same with black ones tbh

i find that the red ones are the only ones that have a healthy mix of firmness/sweetness/tartness

the red ones are just sweet to me almost no tartness

Tbh growing up I had the opposite problem where the red grapes were always flaccid and squishy while the green were firm. Idk how that divide happened between PA and NY

it probably doesn't help that we're using extremely vague color descriptors like "red" and "green" when each color is probably represented by dozens of different cultivars, each with their own unique properties lol

as for the cultivars commonly available in my area, whichever one it is that happens to be reddish tends to be the best

Grapefruit is a garbage food for garbage boys. Everyone who has it on their list is no longer eligible for friendship by me.
I suppose I will have to amend my best boyager nomination madood;

Cantaloupe and Honeydew are the true garbage fruits. They are the packing peanuts of a fruit salad
