lmao all those pessimistic posts in the early pages of this thread this game turned out p. amazing

the trailers and first few chapters of the game certainly primed the audience to expect something more serious than we ended up with

which i think had mixed results, tbh

like i've said, i would have greatly preferred the [glow=black,2,300]hector alcazar plot to the 'lol i lied' plot because hinging the entire story on a weak fib makes it much less compelling[/glow]

i think the last of us' promo materials handled misdirection better: they used their trailers to subvert cliches by implying that [glow=black,2,300]one protagonist would have to kill the other, or that you played exclusively as joel[/glow]

and neither of those turned out to be true which was a pleasant surprise lol

uncharted's major twist was disappointing rather than pleasantly surprising
