iPhones are lame but maybe they're ironically cool now idk

I mean the newest Galaxy got crazy good reviews and androids tend to be less restrictive with what you can do with them out of the box so that would be my choice but I'm sure everyone else will have a different opinion or tell me how stupid I am for liking those phones so bring it on jmv/cmongler/me##

??????

are galaxies the most efficient within the andriod world

"What’s the best Android phone 2016/2017? The simple answer is the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, but there are 19 other amazing phones on our list of the top Android phones of 2016/2017 [...]"

"We’ve placed the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge at the top of our list because it is the fastest Android phone in our benchmarks, with the longest battery life, the best camera quality, and it has a load of extra features such as the dual-curved-edge screen, heart-rate scanner and new always-on display(also seen in the standard Galaxy S7 and LG G5). We love its premium metal-and-glass, waterproof build, and although there isn’t a huge amount new in this year’s model Samsung really didn’t need to make any huge improvements to retain its crown for best Android phone."

I know a lot about phones, considering I work with a lot of them.
I'm not very fond of Samsung's software although it has gotten a lot better over the past couple years. The S7 does have great hardware in general and it's definitely the most well-known current high-end Android phone.

It's probably the very last notable Android phone ever that will use microUSB instead of USB-C, so it's compatible with all the old chargers and accessories but none of the new ones moving forward.

If I used the Galaxy S7 outside of work, I'd be concerned about all that curved glass with regards to durability.

I'd sooner recommend Google's Pixel, but it depends what you care about. Compared to S7, Pixel has a much more promising future for software updates, feels a bit less fragile, and has software I'd consider quite a bit better, but it loses memory card support and waterproofing.

If you want the Galaxy S7 and use T-Mobile or AT&T, it's better to buy the international version (G930F or G935F) instead of the US version because it has better battery life, better, speed, and much lower price (from Amazon). The only downside is that the non-US version doesn't work with Verizon or Sprint.
Pixel, S7, and their XL/Edge variants are both pretty good, but I wouldn't really recommend any of the other new high-end Android phones.

Speed: Intl S7/Edge > Pixel/XL > US S7/Edge
Battery: Intl S7 Edge > Intl S7 > Pixel XL > US S7 Edge > Pixel > US S7
Software: Pixel > US S7 ~= Intl S7 (arguably subjective)
Price: Intl S7 (cheapest) < Intl S7 Edge < Pixel < US S7 < Pixel XL < US S7 Edge (priciest)
Carrier support: Pixel/XL (Google Fi and better roaming) > US S7/Edge > Intl S7/Edge (no Verizon/Sprint)
Aesthetic: idk

For a budget but good Android phone the Moto g4 has been treating me well so far. Screen is a bit bigger than I'd like but other than that it has exceeded my expectations
