um you have to have a minimum balance at many credit unions because that would be your "share" and membership in a credit union

But I don't?  confuseddood;
I've been zero before and I had no penalties.

i'm pretty sure if i ever let mmy bank balance be zero i'd just jump off a building

squirrelfriend

well some have that policy
I had to deposit $5 in my savings to join mine
some might require less

silvertone

i have to keep 5 dollars in my savings account, but if i were to ever clos the aaccoutn i get those 5 dollars back so it's a non-prob for me.

i think it depends on the credit union? i'm pretty sure the ones in washington that i looked into briefly were the same

my credit union was really nice
they threatened my job for me and offered me a lot of packages like free classes and free gym memberships

what

famy

yeah my credit union offered me free shit too lol but i never used anything b/c im lazy
they required a $20 minimum savings account but i could have just taken it out at any time. and i got a loan from a different credit union for my last car with a lower interest rate than anyone else would have given

i still banked with bbva compass though lol they had no fees either as long as i had a paycheck depositing regularly into the account and there's not any other hidden fees. the only downside is people say "lol whats that bank????/" and its not as common i guess lol. i left bank of america as soon as i could

strongbad

bank of america is all canceled now except for my credit card (which i now have no way of paying for lol but thankfully it's all paid off)

can't wait to get on the credit union train :D
