when i had tricare it was dumb because i had to drive for like an hour to go to a doctor that covered me and then i had to wait for like 45 minutes. for some dang antibiotics.

thank god i didnt want to chop off my doodle who knows how long that would have taken
wtf
DC has a huge military presence
you would think they take tricare standard at least (Prime sucks because lol referrals and they make me take the bridge-tunnel to see a doctor)

C.Mongler

oh i mean this was years ago when i lived with my folks in gainesville and we had to drive to like woodbridge or some shit to go to the doctor it suked my parents never took me unless i was like srsly ill

C.Mongler

i blame the VA on my irrational fear of going to doctors because i think it stems from some subconscious thought that it's going to be long, tedious, annoying, and ultimately unhelpful

Same
The army medical center had their own Dr House and I got put through lots of medical testing
WE THINK YOU HAVE FRAGILE X SYNDROME, STICKLER SYNDROME, MARFANS, KLINEFELTERS
they took eight vials of blood and made me wait months and they said they often cause deadly heart problems
And then they're like you tested negative so we are going to still treat you like you have Marfan's
CT SCAN DEXA SCANS MAMMOGRAMS.
Oh you might have osteoporosis. More tests.

idk why they didn't give me a brace for my chest and spine
I think that's what sparked my health anxiety and tendency to catastrophise things

military health care is good overall. I just wouldn't want a retired military doctor that hasn't opened a private practice to operate on me in a military facility

i blame the war on drugs
you blame the war on drugs for what specifically? what are you insinuating?
I think a lot of those scheduled substances could help with PTSD especially the hallucinogens if that's what you mean.

According to defense officials, military hospitals will be able to provide gender transition surgery when required. But those seeking it through Tricare will run into problems. Under existing law, gender transition surgery is not allowed by Tricare.

well it's not really that much considering you can pay for boob jobs at these facilities below market rate if you ask around for military doctors who want to keep their credentials up to date

YPrrrr

i think lsd is a better early treatment as it allows one to process the memory
marijuana is just good for anxiety symptoms for ptsd but sometimes it can be paradoxical depending on the strain
I don't think I would take marijuana every day if I could; weight gain is a big issue for me. But practically all the anti-anxiety meds have that except for like SSRIs so really idk. I'm not opposed to legalization because I think it's a good second-line treatment in general when nothing else works.
