https://www.giac.org/certification/certified-incident-handler-gcih

The GCIH certification focuses on detecting, responding, and resolving computer security incidents and covers the following security techniques:

The steps of the incident handling process
Detecting malicious applications and network activity
Common attack techniques that compromise hosts
Detecting and analyzing system and network vulnerabilities
Continuous process improvement by discovering the root causes of incidents

squirrelfriend

are you going to use this as leverage for a raise

C.Mongler

that's more complicated.

I completed this yesterday. I submitted the paperwork for my annual review+request for a promotion last month, which includes a different certification.

I can probably use this to request another raise (or just a raise if they deny it this year) in February/March 2017.

it's a win/win for me because they paid for the class + cert so even if they deny me a raise for having this, I now have a $5k class + $1k exam (we paid less cuz discount) paid for by the school and I can just use it elsewhere for a salary lmao
