Oh hey yeah I saw this release day in IMAX, visuals and audios were AMAZING

Honestly the thing I bought the least was her getting the stormtrooper to leave and drop his weapon.

I mean at least when she realized Kylo Ren's own fears she was imitating his own methods. But how could she possibly know how to manipulate the weak minded without some sort of training or example. I mean maybe she hears about it in the stories of the jedi sure, but that doesn't explain its execution. Same with force pulling the lightsaber but at least that seems more intuitive that controlling someone else's brain

seriously this was my main gripe with the movie
also the fact that the new order isn't explained at all and the rebellion is just as lowly as always despite winning everything and "restoring peace" in VI
R2 just "waking up" out of nowhere at the most convenient time and solving their big problem was a bit silly too
Still, the battles were great, and I absolutely loved the scene with Finn and Poe escaping. Kylo Ren is a great villain imo
but yeah 6/7 great movie, definitely too rehash-y but it was really well-executed and aside from the Death Star 3 I didn't mind the retread stuff. Great characters, good music
that last scene was fantastic too

Definitely better than all the prequels. Probably about on par with Return of the Jedi. Maybe a bit less

i like jedi well enough. my only real gripe with it is how silly the ewoks are, and by extension how silly that entire battle on endor's moon's surface is

i do definitely agree with anyone saying that a new hope and empire are considerably better tho, especially empire since empire is fucking fantastic
