nowhere in my post did i imply that no one should buy it just because i'm unimpressed befuddlement

just don't buy it then dipshit jesus this isnt that hard of a concept lol if no one wants it for 60 its price will drop like a rock in a matter of weeks. christ lol

thanks for the economics lesson
i'm banking on either a price drop or low sales being the case if what we've seen really is all they have to offer, and in fact that would confirm that i was perfectly justified in finding the initial launch price of $60 to be ridiculous

yes, i very much look forward to being vindicated

i could not possibly have dreamed of a more spectacular disaster

not only did every single fear about the depth/shallowness of this game materialize tenfold, not only did promises from the grandiose to the most minute go shamelessly unfulfilled, but the icing on the procedurally generated cake is that the pc release is utterly broken, which even i couldn't have anticipated lol

i mean it's arkham knight-level unplayable giggle;

hopefully this serves as a lesson to self-important indies everywhere who might also have had the audacity to charge $60 for their own generic, broken early access game

it's just a shame that hello games has already made its millions thanks to sony's marketing prowess, an insane days-post-launch review embargo, and astronomical levels of overhype/overpromising that anyone could have seen through (but i think """gamers""" must deliberately go out of their way to prove that they're gullible morons)

well, now i can look forward to smugly ignoring this when it's being offered for $3.25 on next month's """humble """indie"""""" bundle rofl

oh, this was the thread
i've been looking for it

but yeah, i've been thoroughly enjoying this debacle
one point you forgot to mention and possibly my favorite is how rabid and defensive the fanbase is

mite b a troll but still hilarious

lmao the screaming redditards in the death throes of post-purchase rationalization syndrome

Can I be FUCKING real for a second?

This community is fucking atrocious right now. You're all acting like a bunch of whiny, entitled little babies.

A tiny team of people made an entire universe for you to explore. They made it for YOU, and they're going to wake up tomorrow morning and see that instead of enjoying it, this community of "fans" picked out the 3 or 4 things that weren't perfect and are using that to fucking riot.

Guess what? The game was never going to be perfect. It was never going to live up to your hype. It was never going to be everything you'd ever want in a game.

What it WAS going to be was an impossibly big universe filled with mysteries and weird shit. I just played it for 2 hours and it was exactly that. What more do you want?

Is it buggy? Sure. Is it repetitive? Maybe. Is the inventory system imperfect and the multiplayer feature questionable and the structure unclear? Sure, fine.

But holy shit what do these people OWE YOU?

How fucking entitled do you have to be to explore an infinite universe in a spaceship and then say "yeah but..."

We should all be fucking weeping in our chairs right now at the sheer size and scale of the achievement. We should be showering the people behind this thing with the praise they deserve for pulling off one of the most inspiring games in recent memory.

Hello Games doesn't owe you the world. Yet they gave you 18 QUINTILLION of them.

If you have the fucking audacity to complain about it then you don't deserve it and you were never fans in the first place.

they simply can't admit that they're the easiest targets for these sorts of scams

Kalahari Inkantation

and all of the melodrama and self-aggrandizement that goes into full time defense of this game

it's no wonder the marketing appealed to reddit in particular

but you don't understand thyme, 18 QUINTILLION planets

who cares if between those 18 quintillion there's not even a single earth's worth of geological or biological diversity

you need to have an open mind to truly appreciate this universe on a deep level

don't let's

Yeah, hearing the size coupled with procedurally generated didn't give me high hopes for game or diversity of content.

C.Mongler

i find it hilarious people feel so ripped off by this game when it was clear it was an early access survival game years ago, but i can at least understand that

the defenders are fucking hilarious tho, that one reddit post, top keks

TooB

Almost any defender of almost any game is hilarious, because they never actually defend the game.

They just mention a flaw, say that its not so bad, then insult the people who naysay.
That reddit post is the perfect example
