Brah u still in Minneapolis? I been down there several times recently and moving down there soon we should hang out

yes i am! where are you moving? and yes we should hang out

well we're not really sure yet. it's me and my buddy john btw. i was kinda thinking some of the areas in south/southwestern/western minneapolis seem nice, as well as areas slightly further out from the city itself in those same directions

applesauce

"slightly further out from the city" have fun in suburban hell

You (and pretty much anyone) can come stay on my futon sometime before you move if yout are looking for shit

Samus Aran

well i'm not really opposed to suburbia lol, though it definitely depends on the area. idk though, what do you recommend? we're really just looking for a simple two bed apartment, no frills necessary, and like hopefully not too expensive

in any case, that's a really cool offer, thanks man. i will keep that in mind! btw i don't have your number in my phone anymore, what is it??? just in case

I recommend living close in where you don't need a car, but of course that's what I recommend.  If you are looking for something somewhere between the urban/suburban lifestyle,  you could look in like Longfellow, Howe, Kingfield, ect. Still fairly walkable but not at all crowded. But you would have a hard time living there without a car. I like where I am in Stevens Square-- no car needed!

Being able to use public transit or even a bike or walking as much as possible would be great, but we both have cars so its not a big concern.

Thanks tho Drew I'll take those areas into consideration!!

snoorkel

i agree w Drew, wouldn't want to go much further west than 94. *shiver*
south minneapolis always seemed like a nice place, residential but many urban amenities which cannot be found in suburbs

*dream of minneapolis*
*dream of st. paul*

mm Stevens Square looks pretty prime right der applesauce

that light rail come out there??

applesauce

No, it's like a 15 minute walk, but there are buses every 10 mins that are just a block away.

Tbh I hardly ever take transit, maybe 3 times a week. I walk pretty much everywhere. my commute is a 20 min walk a+

Samus Aran

Yeah I mean I personally don't mind that much either way, and we're just starting out so I'm not going to be too picky. We're just hoping for a half decent place with OK rent to start out. Whether its right in Minneapolis or a 20-minute drive away is somewhat of an afterthought. We'll be looking at pretty much all our options.
