Once upon a time, Tec had a Wii which he beloved with all his heart. Surely Tec would want the latest offering from Nintendo, the curvaceous Wii U! But lo, the Wii U was but an imitator of past joys for Tectron. It all seemed so similar and yet they couldn't be further apart. Even his grandma wouldn't buy this new system. Yeigh, he was quite content to continue on in his merry Tectron way with his Tectron games in his magical Tectron forest. But as all our loved ones must someday do, the Wii could not last forever. Despite all his love and care, he could only sit by and watch as his joy was worn down by age and could go on no longer. Tectron was deeply saddened and grieved as he had never grieved before. Yet he knew his Wii would want him to move on. To find some other Wii with which to continue his adventures. He journeyed to his nearby internet retailer to scout for potential matches. As he gazed upon the screen, he noticed shiny new Wiis had fallen in price to only $100, "a rather sharp bargain," he wagered. Yet as he was about to click purchase, his eye was drawn to the similar items. One of those brand new Wii Us. "Heh," Tec scoffed, "What's the point of a game console without a library to support it?" However, upon closer inspection, a twisted thought began to grow within Tec's mind. The console was only $100 dollars more than the Wii and could play all of his old games as well. Even if another game never came out for the Wii U ("a likely scenerio," he reasoned) at worst he would still effectively have a Wii. And in this moment of logic, Tectron smugly clicked purchase. Almost instantly, he was overcome with a sense of dread. What had he done? He had stepped outside of the bubble, tasted the forbidden fruit, and now there would never be any going back. In the days awaiting the arrival of his package, he was consumed with grief. This was not his Tectron way. The Wii U had no Tectron games. And the Tectron forest no longer seemed magical. It was soulless and polluted. There at the doorstep sat his sinister, black Wii U. A face not even a Candy Crush fan could love. There was one metered ray of hope left in Tectron's somber future. Mario Kart 8. A revamped classic with several of his favorite old courses updated to a level of futuristic pristine condition. And for a while, it almost seemed to possess the spirit of his beloved and departed Wii. But then came the online play. Game after game, Tec was creamed into submission. His former friends Tyler and Kaz would blow by him, their characters shooting him looks of disgust and rage. Tectron knew this was the end of his happy Wii days. And as we leave Tectron to his fate, all we can hear is his quiet crying and Kaz's muffled maniacal laughter over Skype.
