You should read "the martian way". It's three short stories, but it's a pretty cool read. I think Asimov is the best in short chunks, like the "I-Robot" set of stories.

Boogus Epirus Aurelius

Oh, yeah, Silvertone you should read "The martian Chronicles" by ray bradbury. It's also a short story collection about repeated attempts to colonize the planet and it's real real funky.

I just found my copy today while moving around some stuff and started re-reading it. One of my favorite sci-fi books.
